After reading the story of ‘Dilwyn The Dragon’, we designed our own repeating patterns
They were shirts, just like the ones worn by the robbers in the story
We used either 2, 3 or 4 colours
We also drew our own repeating patterns on the screen

Number & Place Value
In our first few weeks of Year 1 we focused on ‘number and place value’
We did lots of different counting tasks
Here we had to carefully count the different farm animals
We had to concentrate to make sure we didn’t miss any
We then learned about ‘part whole models’
This helps us to add numbers
