welcome to the Reception Classes

 

Croeso i'r Dosbarth Derbyn. Mae gennym ddau ddosbarth - Otters a Kingfishers. Yn yr Otters mae Mrs H Williams (athrawes) a Mrs K Jones (Cymhorthydd) gyda Miss P Williams (cymhorthydd ADY).  Mae Mrs K Fernandes a Mrs A Davies hefyd yn treulio amser yn yr Otters yn ystod yr wythnos. Yn Kingfishers mae Miss N Puttick (athrawes) a Mrs C Patterson (cymhorthydd) gyda Miss P Williams (cymhorthydd ADY). Isod cewch weld rhai o'r gweithgareddau hwyl rydym wedi bod yn gwneud. 

Welcome to the Reception Classes. We have two classes - Otters and Kingfishers. In the Otters we have Mrs H Williams (teacher) and Mrs K Jones (teaching assistant) with Miss P Williams (ALN teaching assistant). Mrs K Fernandes and Mrs A Davies also spend time in the Otters class during the week. In the Kingfishers we have Miss N Puttick (teacher) and Mrs C Patterson (teaching assistant) with Miss P Williams (ALN teaching assistant). Below you can see some of the fun activities we have been doing. 

Tymor y Gwanwyn - Spring Term

 

Here are some websites to support the learning we are doing in class over the Spring term

Health and Well being week- bubbles, mud, water, fire and ice activities

Penguins arrives at Y Foryd. We had to follow the clues to find who it was and it was the penguin form the book “Lost and Found” by Oliver Jeffers

Money- we are learning to pay for items using 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p. We even had a go for paying for our snac yn Amser Snac

Dude Santes Dwynwen Hapus. We are learning all about Diwrmod Santes Dwynwen. We made Welsh Love spoons, cards to tell our families “Caru it” and decorated the class with cariad

Measure- we are learning to compare height, length and weight this half term. We measure£ the penguins, compared our height to the height of the different penguins, looked for long and short objects around the classroom and learnt how to use the scales to measure heavy and light objects

Science. - blubber experiment. We found out that penguins have a layer of blubber to keep themselves warm. We wanted to find out of it really did keep us warm. We put one hand in icy water, and the other was covered in butter to see which hand would get colder

Ffrindiau-friends. We are enjoying seeing our friends and spending all day exploring our new classrooms

Amser cinio-we love being in school all day. It means we get to have cinio in school with our friends

International dot day- dots dots everywhere! We celebrated making our marks!!!

Morfa Leisure Centre- we love going to the leisure centre.

Mathematics- we have been learning to order numbers and sort objects

Celebrating being different

Eco School- Litter. We went on a litter hunt around school to make sure that school is clean and tidy!

Art in the style of Giuseppe Arcimboldo- we have been practising our cutting skills to make self portraits using fruit and vegetables

Remembrance Day

Plant mews angen- children in need

RSE - learning about our bodies

Using our large equipment during our PE time. This will help us build our muscles ready for writing

Schools coin challenge- we did a great job collecting coins and we filled a Gingerbread Man!
