‘Eco’ is very important to everybody in our school
Our Year 1 & Year 2 classes have made their own Eco pledges
Each pledge focuses on a specific area e.g. saving energy or water
Each class then made posters based on their pledges
Here are some of Clwyd’s posters
We think they get the message across
To complete our work based on ‘A Pea Called Mildred’ we had a tea party
We decided to decorate cakes for this special occasion
The icing was carefully placed onto our cakes
We used a spoon to spread it around
The best bit was when we decorated our cakes with a sweet
We wanted to find the best material to use for a rain hat for Mildred The Pea
Different materials were discussed, and why we thought they may be appropriate
We poured the same amount of water on each one
After this we then ranked them from 1 to 5
We had to think hard before we scored them
It was great fun being scientists for the afternoon
The Life Cycle Of A Flower
The different stages of the cycle were carefully cut out
They were then placed in the correct order
At the end we could explain the whole life cycle to our teacher
We used Beebot to help us learn about coding
We gave Beebot instructions on where to move
This half term we are learning to code
We have used Purple Mash to give commands to the on-screen sprite
We can make it move when it is ‘clicked’ on the screen
We can also make objects disappear when they are ‘clicked’
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
