One of our favourite parts of the year is the ‘Easter Hat Parade’
We make our own hats at home
We then bring them into school
It is great to see the hard work that has been put in
Mrs Rowlands has the difficult job of judging the winners
The Easter Story
After hearing our teachers read us the story, we retold it using pictures
We had to remember the order that the pictures were in the story
We used our memory skills to recell the details of the story
It was great to work with our friends
Slowly but surely, the story took shape
By the end, we had every picture in the correct order
Making Castles
We decided to make our own cardboard castles
Flat pieces of cardboard we used for the walls
The shape of the walls was cut out carefully
It was hard work to put the walls together
Flags were then added to the turrets
We used colours that made the walls look real
It was great to take our time and make our castles look real
We were very proud of our work
Castle Features
Our Spring topic is called ‘Cestyll Cymru’
We looked at images of the castles of Wales
We worked in groups to label the different parts of a castle
It was great to learn about the different features of a castle
We now know all about ‘battlements, drawbridges, moats and arrow loops’.
