National Insect Week

As part of this week we went on a minibeast hunt
We looked under stones and leaves
We weren’t sure exactly what we would find
These magnifying glasses were fantastic
The tyres were a good place to find insects
Then we went to look under the trees
We put the insects we found in here
It was great to explore with our friends
Look at this snail
It was a fantastic afternoon

Our Trip To The Welsh Mountain Zoo

Arriving at the zoo
We set off on our walk around the zoo
The sea lions
We loved the pink flamingos
The osterich was very curious
He wondered who we were
It felt like we were swimming with the penguins
Watching the chimpanzees
We saw a baby camel that was only 10 weeks old
The meerkats were funny to watch
We also visited the reptile house
Having some fun before we leave

Manorafon Farm Park Visit Our School

Manorafon Farm Park visited our school
Will brought along some of his animal friends
We got the chance to feed some of the animals
It was great to get so close to them
Will told us all about the animals he brought
We even got the chance to hold some of them
It was a brilliant day for us all
This baby goat was only born 2 months ago
We all thanked Will for coming to see us

Learning Directional Language

We programmed Bee-Bot to move to specific places
We developed the use of our directional language
Our coding skills were developed too.
The commands went together to make an ’algorithm’
An algorithm is a set of instructions

We put on our coats and headed off

We found lots of signs of autumn
There were lots of sticks on the ground
We found lots of leaves too
It was our first visit of the year outside school
It was lots of fun
